The British Daily Mail reported that Arnold missed the starting lineup again and his life in Real Madrid is still difficult.

Arnold scored only 3 minutes of playing time in Real Madrid's second game against Real Oviedo, before returning to the starting lineup in a 2-1 home victory against Mallorca. But in Real Madrid's match against Real Sociedad, Xavi Alonso reactivated the experienced Carvajal.

When asked about the competition between Arnold and Carvajal's main position, Alonso said: "Luckily, there is a healthy competition within our team, and they are challenged internally because their teammates are ready to go. The same is true for other positions, such as central defenders or wingers. Whoever performs better will play, and this principle will continue throughout the season."

Carvajal has rich experience and was the first choice in Alonso's early coaching for Real Madrid. Arnold offers a more aggressive option, but because the frontcourt already has such strong firepower, Alonso and Real Madrid are currently more inclined to adopt a defensively prioritized backcourt strategy.

This is a delicate art of balance for Alonso, when to use Arnold best, and when to choose Carvajal. So far, they have not been affected in terms of their results.
