British media: Arsenal will not participate in the competition for Semenho in the winter window, but they are paying attention to Yildiz s situation
According to London Football Network, the battle for Bournemouth forward Semenho is currently intensifying. However, for now, Arsenal is not expected to participate in the winter transfer battle. After an ambitious and record-breaking summer window led by Gunners director Andrea Berta, a quiet winter window is expected. Semenho's release clause is worth 60 million pounds plus a floating bonus of 5 million pounds, and will take effect in early 2026. Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham are all considering whether they are willing to pay the money for Semenho. Unless there are major changes, Arsenal does not intend to participate in the competition. They currently remain compliant with Premier League PSR regulations but are believed to be on the verge of risk when it comes to UEFA's squad cost ratio restrictions. These financial restrictions limit the club's spending on the pitch to 70% of total revenue, so unless there is a major player sale (which seems unlikely at this stage), more big-money deals in the winter window do not seem realistic. Not only that, Arsenal is also satisfied with the current lineup. So far this season, they have achieved good results in the Premier League, Champions League and League Cup. It is worth noting that Semenho’s buyout clause is time-limited, so those interested in signing him must show real determination to grab him before their competitors. Market opportunities like Semenho's are rare and, given his red-hot form, it would be very surprising if he stayed at Bournemouth this winter, as there is a mechanism in his contract that can be formally triggered without the need for inter-club negotiations. In addition, Liverpool has also been linked with Semenho, and Red Army director Richard Hughes facilitated his transfer from Bristol City to Bournemouth in January 2023. Liverpool are yet to find a replacement for Luis Dias, and for now, their interest is substantial. At the end of the season, the situation may be different. Arsenal are expected to evaluate their options at left winger as Martinelli's contract expires in the summer of 2027. They have the option to activate the one-year extension clause, but if Arteta decides to make adjustments to the front line, there may be personnel changes at the left winger position. Arteta already has many options, with Martinelli, Trossard, Eze and Madueke all competing for the starting position. It is understood that Berta is also paying attention to the situation of Juventus striker Yildiz, but in the eyes of industry insiders, considering the potential of the player, this is regarded more as a routine operation rather than a major development. Yildiz's agents are still negotiating with Juventus over a salary increase and believe the player deserves a more generous salary. These conversations have been ongoing for several months, but have yet to yield positive results. Juventus director Chiellini said that since Yildiz's contract does not expire until June 2029, the club is still very relaxed about it. According to reports, sources close to Yildiz confirmed that a number of Premier League clubs have had informal contact with him in the past six months to understand the player's situation. Even if Juventus cannot reach a new agreement with the player, Yildiz's worth will not be low, and the transfer fee will definitely be high. Manchester United considered bringing in Yildiz earlier this year, but ultimately signed Cunha in the summer. Chelsea are also among the clubs interested in him. In addition, Real Madrid is also believed to be interested. Although there are many variables, unless major injuries change their minds, Arsenal currently does not plan to make any major transfers in the winter window, but will focus on planning for the summer window.
