Campos talks about Paris youth training: Frequent visits to supermarkets will not make you a good chef and prevent Paris from getting into financial difficulties

Paris Saint-Germain firmly defends the operating model of its youth training center. Youth training director Cabaye emphasizes transparency. Campos promotes local talents and aims to create an ambitious and responsible youth training system that is far away from glitz and oriented to the future.

The Paris Saint-Germain youth training center was recently inspected by the labor inspection department after reports that some employees felt uncomfortable and harassed. The club's sporting director Cabaye said on Monday that the club had "nothing to hide" and confirmed the report in L'Equipe.

"There was indeed an inspection. We did a good job. For me, the most important thing is that everyone concentrates on the main task, that we serve the players." Cabaye said at a press conference at the Paris Saint-Germain campus in Poissy (Yvelines) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the youth training center.

"We have nothing to hide. When we are ambitious, we must have correspondingly high standards and must keep moving forward. Other things, those things that happen on the side, I am not interested in. The feedback from this survey is that we need to strengthen communication among employees."

Cabaye later assured in a statement provided to the media: "The well-being of our employees is very important to us. We will pay close attention to the conclusions of the investigation."

He also expressed his appreciation for the excellent education provided to 39 junior high school students and 80 high school students, whose high school graduation rate reached 95%. PSG has high hopes for its youth training centre, which was founded on November 4, 1975 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye (Yvelines) and has moved over the past year to the PSG campus, where the men's and women's first teams also train.

The club's sporting adviser, Luis Campos, explained on Monday that the club's goal is to "produce more and more Paris-area players of sufficient quality to play for a team like Paris Saint-Germain." This reduces the need to "seek out and pay high transfer fees in the market".

When asked about Paris Saint-Germain's more low-key signings in the past two seasons, Campos said: "Just because we often go to the supermarket to shop does not make us good cooks. The important thing is to move in the right direction and not pile up players. We will never let Paris Saint-Germain's finances get into trouble."

The Portuguese manager, who formed a successful partnership with coach Luis Enrique, revealed that he was looking for young players who were both well-educated and intelligent: "I remember some players who ruined their careers because of a bad education. It's not just talent that matters, but also respect, education and listening."
