Kjaer: If Eriksen hadn’t woken up in that European Cup game, I would have chosen to retire

June 13, 2021) Denmark played Finland in the European Cup Group B group match at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen. In the 42nd minute of the first half of the game, Eriksen suddenly fell to the ground and passed out without physical contact.

Denmark captain Kjaer immediately opened Eriksson's mouth to prevent him from biting his tongue, and performed chest compressions. The team doctor then performed professional cardiac resuscitation and used an AED (automated external defibrillator) for defibrillation.

Eriksen is currently playing for Wolfsburg. He has played 8 games this season and has one assist. Kjaer announced his retirement in January this year.
