MiTi: If the purchase of Lukeman fails, Inter Milan wants to rent + 35 million euros forcibly buy out Enkunku

"Milan Sports" stated that if Inter Milan failed to buy Lukeman, they would try to rent first and then buy Enkunku, or sign Chiesa Jr.

Inter Milan wants to sign another striker this summer and has been seeking to buy Atlanta's Lukeman. Lukeman is already willing to join Inter, but Atlanta is always reluctant to cut prices, which has led to a deadlock in transfer negotiations. "Milan Sports" said Inter Milan's senior executives also have alternative targets, namely Chelsea's Nkuku and Liverpool's Chiesa Jr.

Nkunku, 27, is a French striker. He joined Chelsea in 2023, with the transfer fee at that time being 60 million euros. However, Nkunku first suffered a knee injury, and after returning from injury last season, he was just a substitute at Chelsea. He made 27 appearances in the Premier League, including only 9 starts, scoring 3 goals and assisting 2 times. Chelsea signed several strong frontcourt players this summer, and Nkunku's status has further declined and has been included in the for sale list.

"Milan Sports" said Inter Milan is planning to loan Nkunku for one season and force the player to be bought out next summer, with the buyout fee of 35 million euros. Given the cost amortization of players over the past two seasons, selling Nkunku at this price will not cause Chelsea to suffer capital losses. However, Nkunku's annual salary after tax is as high as 6.5 million euros, which is the biggest obstacle to Inter Milan's introduction.

Inter Milan's other option is Chiesa Jr., the 27-year-old Italian international joined Liverpool last summer. He only made 14 appearances throughout the season, scoring 2 goals and assisting 2 times. Chiesa Jr. is no longer in Liverpool's future plans, and Chiesa Jr. also hopes to return to Serie A to play. Currently Inter Milan and Naples are interested in Chiesa Jr.

However, Chiesa's annual salary after tax at Liverpool is 6.2 million euros. Whether he chooses to go to Inter or Naples, he needs to accept a significant salary cut. But compared with Lukeman and Nkunku and other signing targets, the transfer fee for signing Chiesa Jr. will be much lower.
