Paris mayoral candidate: PSG will not move to Poissi, hope to stay at the Princes Stadium forever

Emanuel Gregorva, the candidate for the mayor of Paris, said that if he is elected mayor, he will work hard to ensure that the Paris Saint-Germain club continues to stay at the Princes Stadium.

The current home stadium of Paris Saint-Germain is the Stadium of the Princes, but the ownership of this stadium belongs to the Paris Municipal Government, which has always wanted to buy the stadium, but the city refused to sell it. In June this year, the current Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo said: "We are willing to expand the Princes Park Stadium, but the stadium belongs to the city government. It is not feasible for sale, but the expansion is feasible."

The Paris Saint-Germain Club hopes to have its own stadium. Recently, it has conducted inspections in the two cities of Poissi in Eveline and Masi in Esson Province near Paris, and held talks in these two cities and local committees. Paris Saint-Germain believes that the Princes are too small and hopes to build a new stadium that can accommodate 60,000-90,000 people in one of the two cities.

However, Mayor Anne Hidalgo is about to leave office, Paris will hold a new mayoral election in 2026, and Socialist candidate Emmanuel Gregorva is the former chief aide to the current mayor Anne Hidalgo. Emmanuel Gregorva said: "Paris Saint-Germain moves to Poissi? This is impossible, whether it is now or in the future."

Emmanuel Gregorva also promised that if he is elected as mayor of Paris, he would re-engage dialogue with Paris Saint-Germain chairman Nasser to ensure that the team can continue to play at the Princes Stadium. Possible options include selling the stadium, renting the stadium for a long time, or expanding the stadium at the club's expenses.

In fact, last year Emmanuel Gregorva said: "We don't want to communicate with the PSG club through the media. The others are secondary and I don't want to comment through the media. Paris Saint-Germain will never leave the PSG park."
