James made a surprise visit to the gymnasium of Southampton High School in Long Island last week to give a careful explanation to high school players

Last Thursday, an NBA agent called and requested to use the Southampton High School Stadium for several hours. Such a request is not uncommon for Southampton athletic director Darren Phillips.

"Jimmy Butler, JJ Redick, Kevin Love, Kyle Kuzma, Draymond Green - they all trained here in the previous summer. Draymond was here last summer, too," said Phillips. So, when Phillips got a call from Greene’s agent, he thought Greene was back in town and needed a place to train. Phillips agreed and booked the gym for two hours. But when he arrived Friday morning, he quickly realized that it would be an extraordinary day. Green didn't come. Instead, LeBron James, who is probably the greatest basketball player of this generation, shares the same agent with Greene, the one who wants to use the training facilities.

"I was in a state of shock and incredible," Phillips said. "I told LeBron's staff, are you kidding? Am I right?" Phillips explained that there are some basic rules for training: During LeBron's training, mobile phones or videos are not allowed, and only a few approved spectators can enter the gym. And LeBron has an additional requirement - he needs a training partner and a guy who helps him pick up the ball. At this time, Alex Franklin, a senior student from Southampton High School, appeared. The school basketball player was on his way to training and was asked to divert the route.

"I thought it was a joke at first," Franklin said. "But a lot of celebrities have come here, so I know it's possible, not impossible."

It turned out that this was a training that Franklin would never forget. "He explained to me a lot of the training he was doing in detail. We discussed comfort zones and weaknesses, how to read the defender. His understanding of basketball was crazy - it was incredible." People come to my friend and say, 'Wow, you're friends with the kid who trains with LeBron.'"

Franklin also told us that he's a Knicks fan-but he'll always support LeBron now. LeBron returned to Southampton Stadium again on Monday for another private training. Phillips said his agent called Sunday night and asked, "Can we arrange another day?" Franklin did not attend the second training session.
