Redick: Suns have 19 players practicing together throughout September. This is not an excuse but a reality
Today, the Lakers lost to the Suns 81-103 in their first preseason game. After the game, Lakers coach JJ Redick was interviewed. Speaking of the differences in team form, Redick said: "I wouldn't expect a perfect performance in a preseason game, but there is room for growth in those areas. The reality is that it's not an excuse, it's a fact. The Suns had 19 players in the training hall throughout September, and they did tactical drills, similar to what we did last year. From that perspective, they were ahead of us. They built more. I felt more on the defensive end, and they were obviously well-placed in many concepts and tactical arrangements, and we just didn't have enough time and we're going to get to that level, and I'm very confident about that."
