Barcelona presidential candidate: Laporta may have violated the law by using club resources for campaigning
Although the date has not yet been determined, Barcelona is expected to hold elections at the end of March or early April next year, and Laporta will need to face competition from Fonte and others. Laporta will be a guest at an event aimed at hearing the views of club members. It was announced that the club's successful mascot 'CAT' will be in attendance at the event, with all attendees able to take photos with the trophies won last season. In response, Fonte criticized on social media: "Using club resources for campaigning is a conflict of interest and is likely to be illegal." However, based on information obtained from people close to Laporta, Fonte's remarks are groundless because Laporta's activities do not have any campaign color. Furthermore, the event had been planned long before Fonte declared "the Barça we want". So they thought it was typical campaign rhetoric.
